OSP Stare Bielsko is a volunteer fire department within Poland’s National Firefighting and Rescue System (KSRG). We respond to emergencies, search for missing people, raise the next generation of firefighters and share safety know-how with residents, schools and businesses.

OUR MISSION

Why we exist

We protect the lives, health and property of our community — by responding to emergencies, preventing hazards and teaching others how to act before the fire service arrives.

We are a Public Benefit Organisation

OSP Stare Bielsko holds the status of a Public Benefit Organisation (OPP) under Polish law. We work for the benefit of the whole community, not only our members, and report publicly on our activities every year. Polish taxpayers can donate 1.5% of their income tax to us by entering our KRS number in their annual PIT return.

WHAT WE DO

Five pillars of our work

From rescue operations to training for emergency services — all done by volunteers.

  • Firefighting and rescue

    We fight fires and carry out technical rescue — including road traffic collisions — provide qualified first aid and deal with the aftermath of natural disasters.

  • Search for missing persons

    Our Search and Rescue Group (GPR) works in the field — where every hour counts and a well-organised search makes the difference.

  • Youth Fire Brigade

    We mentor and train children and teenagers aged 8–18, teaching responsibility, teamwork and rescue basics — growing the next generation of firefighters.

  • Education and prevention

    We run demonstrations and training in first aid and fire safety for schools, local businesses and residents.

    We run a training centre where firefighters and other rescue services sharpen their skills — also under the guidance of international instructors.

STATUTORY GOALS

The foundation of our work

Under our statute (§ 9), the goals of OSP Stare Bielsko are:

  1. preventing fires and cooperating with organisations, institutions and associations in this field,
  2. taking part in rescue operations during fires, natural disasters and other emergencies,
  3. running fire prevention activities,
  4. developing our members’ interests in culture, education and sport,
  5. carrying out other tasks arising from fire protection regulations.
